Welcome!
Barrington Bloomers
African Violet Society
is an affiliate of the
African Violet Society of America (AVSA),
the Illinois African Violet Society (IAVS),
and the Missouri Valley African Violet Council (MVAVC) .
We meet monthly in the
northwest Chicagoland area.

In addition to sharing our interest in growing better violets,
Our topics for meetings include hybridizing new cultivars, terrarium and natural plant designs, floral designs, growing for show, propagation, pest and disease management, and light-hearted fellowship.  Many of our members also grow orchids, streptocarpus, sinningia, and hoya.

My plant of 'Lyon's Little Sweetheart' won best in class in the Unusal Container category at the IAVS 2010 show.  My little assemblage robot container fit well for the show theme of "Violets in Space".

Our meetings are casually-structured and are always welcome
to visitors and members.
